I wanted to share something a little bit different today! I came across a October challenge post which gave you blogging ideas for everyday of the month and I saw one that had to do with tattoos and I thought YES I have to do that! So I’m going to go through my tattoos, when I got them, and why.
The first one is the photo above “Everything Happens for a Reason”. I got this when I turned 18. June 27, 2014, the day after my birthday. I was so nervous and excited, but I knew this is what I wanted for my first tattoo because I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason wether that be good or bad.
Next was this beauty right here! I was 19 when I got this. It was started on July 10, 2015 but didn’t get it finished until October 6, 2015. I have an obsession with skulls and I really wanted an actual tattoo of something and somewhere that people would see it. I was so utterly obsessed with how it turned out that I would literally just sit in front of the mirror and stare at it. The inspiration came from an art project that I did my senior year of high school. I knew I wanted a skull with flowers and my tattoo artist drew this up better then I could of imagined!
So there seems to be a trend here with getting a tattoo every year.. lol. So I got this piece added on after I turned 20. It got started July 5, 2016, and it was finished July 19, 2016. I really wanted a half sleeve and for a long time I wasn’t sure what I wanted and I didn’t want to just add on anything. I wanted it to go with the skull and symbolize something I love. I finally decided that I wanted a wave crashing down on another rose. I love the ocean, I always have and I thought that would look awesome underneath of my skull. I’m still obsessed with it, and I love looking at it in mirrors. To me it’s like an accessory, arm candy if you will.
My mom and I really wanted to get matching tattoos so September 15, 2016 we got angel wings. We didn’t want to just get any old matching tattoo..we wanted to each have one half of the wing so when put together they make a set. I will admit getting tattooed on your bone hurts, and I have a high tolerance for pain when it comes to getting tattooed. But besides that I’m happy with how it turned out!
There you have it..my tattoo timeline! Haha I’m sure I’ll end up with more at some point but I’m still in-love with all the ones I have and I do not regret a single one. I think tattooing is such an amazing form of art and expression. The skill it takes to tattoo and what these artist’s go through to get to where they are is incredible and I’m very proud to show off amazing work.
I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed typing it and until next time xoxo
